What is U Call I Haul?

U Call I Haul is a family owned, professional transport company.

Based in Whitstable, Kent – we provide our customers with a fully insured, Which? Recommended service.

Whether collecting an Ebay purchase locally, relocating a family to the other side of the country or trans-Europe (and everything in between), U Call I Haul are here to help.


How long will it take to move home?

As no two home-moves are the same, decisive factors would include:

How much furniture and personal belongings you wish to take with you, access to your property, parking distance to and from our vehicles to your property, how large a team you wish to have working for you on the day, handover time agreed by Estate Agent/Landlord, and distance between properties.


How much will it cost to move?

Again, this depends on the amount of furniture requiring shipping, level of service requested, distance travelled etc.

Do you move everything?

Within reason, yes! All items need to be boxed or bagged. We cannot load or transport: flammables, chemicals, gas canisters, livestock, wet/soiled items.

Contents of sheds/garages are required to be clean, dry and boxed. If any shelving-units require dismantling, this should be done prior to your moving day.

Plant pots, bird baths, garden furniture etc that are on your inventory should be clean and dry. It's in your interest to ensure this is the case, as muddy pots and mossy garden furniture could ultimately stain or damage your other belongings. 


Can we purchase packing materials from you?

Yes! Our typical home-movers kit comprises of forty boxes, bubble wrap, acid-free tissue paper, parcel tape and sticky labels for each box supplied.

These prove sufficient for 2-3 bedroomed properties, but should you require more (or less), we can provide you with the exact amount needed.

Customers whose project total £355 or more receive a complimentary kit, FREE of charge.

 

Are my goods insured?

Yes! We have full Goods in Transit insurance, arranged by Arriva.

We also carry full Public Liability cover, to a maximum of £1,000,000.


What happens if I don't get the keys to the new house on time?

If you have an agreed handover time allocated for you by your Estate Agent/Landlord, we will work around this to ensure that we're ready when you are.

However, should there be a delay, then there will be a charged time-penalty imposed of £20 per hour. (£30 per hour if you have chosen the 3 man team)


What do I need to do on the actual move day?

This depends on the level of service requested.

If you have chosen the “One Guy” option, you will be expected to act as part of the team! That is to say, you would have to help empty the property of furniture and belongings, assist with loading the removals vehicle, disassemble furniture if and where needed, etc.

If you have chosen the multi-team option- then you can just sit back and relax!


Do you charge extra for bank holidays and weekends?

No! We're 24/7 and do not penalise clients wishing to use our services at a time that suits them.


Is the accepted quote the final price?

Yes! Absolutely, yes. We don't charge VAT or “Per Mile” fuel surcharges etc.

The price quoted is the price you pay. No hidden extras will ever be added to your final bill.

However, the price quoted is for the removal of the inventory you've supplied - extra items will incur extra charges, as will failure to notify us of parking restrictions etc.


Do I have to arrange parking?   

If parking is difficult outside your property or there are restrictions, you will need to contact your local council and organise parking.

 

We can advise how much room or time will be required to carry out your removal.

 

Any parking fines incurred will be added to your final bill and be paid by you.


Will you empty my loft?   

We will empty your loft as long as it is safe to do so.

 

The access to the loft must have a fixed staircase or ladder, be properly floored and have lighting.

 

If any of these conditions are not met then you will have to empty the loft before the removal van arrives.


Do I have to empty my drawers?   

As long as there are no heavy or breakable items left in drawers then it is usually ok to leave them full.

 

Some types of furniture like self assembly units don't travel well and it is advised that you empty these completely.

 

As long as the furniture itself is sturdy, then items like clothing and bedding can and should be left in.
